8 January 2007 – Meeting
MINUTES
The Johnson County Board of Commissioners held their first REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING for New Year of 2007 on January 8, at 6:00 PM in the Grand Jury Room.
Judge Buxton had the invocation.
Commissioner Pullen made a motion to approve the minutes as written for the Regular Monthly Meeting December 11, 2006 and for the Called Meeting January 2, 2007. Commissioner Foskey seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous.
County Administrator, Douglas Eaves gave the financial report. The General Fund has a balance of $953,336.98, the bills for December 2006 are $95,581.28, and this will leave a balance of $857,755.70. The County also has $700,000.00 in CD’s.
Commissioner Pope made a motion to approve the bills as presented. Commissioner Veal seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous.
Genell C Akins, Director of DFACS came before the Board with their Annual Report.
Christy Brantley of Family Connection came before the Board to give them an update.
The approval of the donation of surplus vehicle (dump truck) was tabled until more information is available.
Donna McCoy, Tax Assessor, came to the Board to give an update on the revaluation progress.
All of the Commissioners approved the appointment of Oreatha Thomas to the RDC Board.
All of the Commissioners agreed to appoint Ron Bray along with Commissioner Bruce Veal to the Pine Country RDC.
Commissioner Veal made a motion to close the Regular Session. Commissioner Pope seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous.
Commissioner Pullen made a motion to go into Executive Session. Commissioner Foskey seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous.
Commissioner Veal made a motion to come out of Executive Session. Commissioner Pope seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous.
Commissioner Pullen made a motion to go back into Regular Session. Commissioner Foskey seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous.
Commissioner Pullen made a motion to adjourn this Regular Monthly Meeting. Commissioner Pope seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous.

The Johnson County Board of Commissioners held their Organizational Meeting on January 2, 2007 at 9:00 A M in the Commissioners Office.
Vice Chairman Bruce Veal had the Invocation.
Organizational responsibilities were assigned as follows:

Chairman announced that the first Regular Monthly Meeting for the year will be Monday 8th at 6:00 PM in the Courthouse.
James L. McAfee, Jr., Chairman formally welcomed the newest Board Member, Jack Foskey, commissioner of District. IV.
The new signature cards, for both banks, will be signed Monday night at the Regular meeting.
Commissioner John Pullen made a motion to adjourn the Organizational Meeting. Commissioner Larry Pope seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous,
